Our go-to place for any special occasion!! The seafood here is SO good. A lot of the nicer restaurants in Columbus look good, but the food is usually average & you're paying for the atmosphere. Although ocean club is pricier, it's worth it! We've had the jumbo shrimp cocktail, calamari, scallops, sea bass, ocean roll and creme brûlée--all delicious! The bread basket is so good too--they give you soft pretzels and sourdough.
Won't a wonderful experience we had, the food was amazing and if you like steak I suggest the A5 rated Wagyu and the tuna tartar to start with. We enjoyed family style sides mushrooms, garlic mash and cream of spinach. The wait staff were ALL awesome. Very lively so make sure to book a reservation. My only critic is my steak came out cold which was disappointing. That being said, I would definitely patron this restaurant again.
4.4 -- service was exceptional, nice atmosphere, and Rose was great! Oysters Rockefeller and calamari were on point for appetizers. Creamed spinach would make Popeye proud but I probably wouldn't order the brussel sprouts again. Steak was cooked correctly and crab legs were fresh (and split). Warm butter cake was good -- the sauce was very tart but a nice complement to the sweet flavor of the cake.
Steak! It's called Ocean Club but the steaks are extraordinary. Reminds me of Ruth's Chris w/o the butter. My 2 adult daughters love Applebee's, so taking them here was a risk. Good news is they loved it. Bad news, not sure I can convince them to go back to Applebee's. Great service too. And the steakhouse vibe is spot on.
Absolutely bar none the best!!! Steak was cooked perfectly and totally delicious All the sides were very good and plenty for the whole table And you have to get the carrot cake for desert!!!
My husband and I dined with Ocean Club and had an exceptional experience. Our server, Erin, was knowledgeable, energetic, and incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the evening. One highlight of the evening was the smoked old fashion, which not only had a unique and delightful taste but also came with a fantastic presentation. Our meal was so delicious that we didn't have any leftovers, although we made sure to take the chocolate torte and ten-layer carrot cake home for later. We dined on a Sunday evening, and I am still dreaming about the overall experience. I can't wait to return next year!
They consider themselves an "Upscale supper club". I'm going with "Top shelf steak and Seafood" Pretty phenomenal occurrence. Great steaks, great seafood, better service. The mixologist was genius! The drinks are served with dry ice infusion. Looks wicked! The smoked old fashioned reminded me of my dad's drink. Presentation was great; taste was smooth. Everything you order is prepared painstakingly accurate and unique and it all tastes exquisite. I highly recommend the Point Judith Calamari (with the sweet chili sauce), the Florida Grouper (Lobster, gnocchi and peas) or the Twin Lobster Tails (with incredible asparagus). On the Steak side, I only get the Fillet (usually the 10oz). The seasoning alone is perfection, it's broiled in the same manner. Three visits and three separate wait-teams, Erin, Tryan and Dave. All so great, one didn't stand above the others. Bare with the expense. The entire experience will put you out $100+ per person. Since you only splurge on this experience for special occasions, you can justify a few visits a year! 06/24
We had a wonderful time being fancy at the ocean club for my bf's bday. The service was wonderful despite toward the end where there was quite a noticeable wait. Not really sure what was going on but we were ready to check out and things just took a long time to flag him down. Food was so good. We order the hamachi crudo to start, and for entrees, the salmon and the lobster linguine. The hamachi was fresh and the flavor was amazing. Tangy, sweet and spicy. The pickled mangos were not extremely pickley in flavor, went so well with the seaweed salad. Wish there were more. Lobster pasta was delicious. Big chunks of lobster. Def get what you pay for it. It was creamy yet light in flavor. Reheated well the next day. My bf crushed his salmon. Sweet teriyaki flavor. The rice was sticky! Also got a side of mashed potatoes and you can see the garlic crisps right there. To die for! It's a beautiful space and such a treat once in awhile for a celebration.
It's Mother's Day Weekend and wanted to celebrate a great meal and what better way to do that than by treating my wife, mom, and mother-in-law to Mitchell's Ocean Club Booked reservations weeks in advance due to the holiday and glad I did. The place was packed and lively which added to the vibe. We were seated pretty much as soon as we arrived, due to the reservations Once seated we were offered bread and drinks orders. Opted to go with the Smoked Old Fashioned with an Angel's Envy Rye and it did not miss, so much my wife and I ordered two rounds Once drinks were ordered we had the Point Judas Calamari which was zesty due to the sweet chili sauce on top of it, but the slaw mix made this an easy appetizer to kick things off. No less than 25ish minutes later our meals all arrived and let me tell you the food across the board was a homerun! I opted for the Chilean Seabass with an additional 4oz Wagyu Steak on the side that allowed me to build my own surf-n-turf! Those protein mixed with, broccolini and a potato puree were the perfect balance for any foodie! My wife had the Sea Scallops with Parmesan risotto, English peas and a citrus vinaigrette that she just raved about because of the well balanced flavors My mom had an off menu Ginger Salmon which is from the old menu, IYKYK, not like the new salmon, but based on what she says, it's the best salmon she ever had My mother-in-law went with Blackened Snapper with a tender inside and crisp skin outside. The pairing of corn spoon bread, Swiss chard, and corn emulsion created quite the melody for any pallet While each dish had sides, we couldn't pass up on the jalapeno au gratin potatoes or the black truffle mac-n-cheese which we had no issue devouring After our meals, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to enjoy some creme brulee with caramelized sugar with blueberry and strawberry toppings. After such a large meal as this, you have to top it off with a smooth French Espresso shot sipping it with the pinky in the air!! Overall, this was a great mic drop Mother's Day Dinner (see photos) that was more than a meal...rather an experience!!! Hats off to the service team, Tim did a fine job and we'll be back!
Birthday(s) dinner for four. I'm happy to see MOC has it all going in the right direction post-Covid. Drinks, apps, meals, desert, service....all 5*. Manager Eaman and his team are doing a superb job. Looking forward to more celebrations at this supreme Mitchell restaurant.
